Meghan took part in a series of royal engagements in Cheshire today alongside none other than the Queen herself! The two began their journey by Royal Train last night as Meghan prepared to take on her first royal appearances without Prince Harry. For the visit, she dressed almost head-to-toe in Givenchy, donning a Givenchy dress designed by Clare Waight Keller (whose name may sound familiar, because she's the talented lady responsible for designing Meghan's wedding dress!).

As the Royal Train pulled into Runcorn Station, The Queen and The Duchess were greeted by crowds of excited well-wishers. Their first stop was the Mersey Gateway Bridge, where they viewed the bridge and watched a performance by local schoolchildren about bringing communities together. (And if the photos are anything to go by, I think it’s safe to say that they had a great time!)

Before leaving, the Queen unveiled a plaque to mark the official opening of the bridge.

In a poignant moment, the two both paused at noon to observe a minute’s silence, which marked last year's Grenfell fire, and honoured those who lost their lives.

Next, they moved on to a performing arts theatre called Storyhouse (which we’re sure the actress in Meghan loved!), where they viewed the children’s library, and met with a Syrian settlement group engaged in craft work.

After their tour of the building, they watched a performance by ‘Fallen Angels’, a dance theatre company for people recovering from addiction. They also viewed schoolchildren from local primary schools performing songs alongside actors from ‘Swallows and Amazons’. Following the performances, The Queen unveiled another plaque at the theatre to mark the Storyhouse's official opening.

To end their visit, The Queen and The Duchess walked to Chester Town Hall, where they attended a lunch as guests of Chester City Council. On their way, they also got to greet more excited members of the public. When asked how married life was treating her, Meghan responded that it was "wonderful", saying: "I'm really enjoying it. [Harry] is the best husband ever." TOO. CUTE.

We're loving today's photos of Meghan and The Queen, and we think The Duchess absolutely nailed her look for their first appearance together as a duo! What did you think of today's outfit? Did you love it as much as we do? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
